Transformation

We moved out of our little trailer last week. It has caused many mixed emotions, we were sad to go but are extremely excited about where we are now. We love our new apartment, and I've loved being able to decorate!! When thinking about what to do with my new space, I decided to go for a photo gallery wall in the living room. I started by gathering some old frames I had and arranging them in a way I liked. Here's what it looked like in the beginning:
Then I spray painted all the frames in an off-white and glazed them with a black glaze. I also spray painted some mattes in yellow to add some contrast and a fun splash of color:
Next I chose some pictures that I felt told "our story." Graduations, wedding, track, vacations, family photos etc. I had them all printed in black and white to make them all look uniform. I also included a mirror that I painted yellow, just to add some variety:

I then made paper templates, the exact size of the frames, and marked where the nail needed to go. I labeled the templates with a description of the picture/frame that it represented, then I hung them on the wall so I could arrange them exactly the way I wanted without having to make more than one hole per picture to do it!

Finally, Forrest put the nails in over the paper (so we could get it exact), then we tore off the paper and hung the pictures! We LOVE the final product. What do you think?

Wow! Very cute! I'm impressed that you took the time to make paper templates. Very smart! I always get impatient and end up with two or three holes:( It looks so cute!
