Forrest and I are pathetic. We are so into Psych (this awesome tv show about a guy who pretends to be a psychic and works for the Santa Barbara Police Department) that we can't stop watching. I swear we are total nerds. So one day in the show, they mention that they are going to Leadbetter Beach. And of course, as Ledbetter happens to be our last name, we thought, "Hmm. I wonder if that really is a real place." So we looked it up, and sure enough. Right in Santa Barbara, Leadbetter Beach. So naturally, since we are in love with the show and it's supposedly taking place in Santa Barbara, we think, "Hey, lets go on a trip this weekend!" 2 hrs north to SB on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. It was the perfect day trip. The weather was perfect, the town was so awesome, and the beach was (of course) wonderful. We packed a small lunch and ate on the grass by the beach under a palm tree. 68 degrees, no wind, and the sun shining ahead. The perfect day. We even went and took pictures of the SBPD (Santa Barbara Police Department) which is shown in every episode of the show. We were pretty disappointed to find that Psych actually was filmed in Canada. Oh well, it was an incredible trip anyway.
We rented this awesome surrey and biked around the beach for a couple of hours. But trust us to not be able to take a leasurely stroll around the place. We were biking up hills, racing other couples, and cruising past little dogs and children like we were the coolest things ever. Seriously though, my legs were killing by the end of it. It was a much better workout than intended! All in all, it was one of the best dates I've ever been on and I would visit SB and Leadbetter Beach again in a heart beat.

So cool...we love Psych also. The main character spent his summers growing up in Ridgecrest. He always makes comments about our little town on the show. Like a few episodes ago, he commented on Newspapers and said "What is the Newspaper in Ridgecrest...and the other guys said "The Dailey Independent".
Are you guys all still planning on Disneyland in a few weeks. We just bought our tickets (for everyone, mom and dad and nicks family) Those So-Cal tickets for 100 are such a great deal. Anyway hope to see you guys down there.
leadbetter beach...that is so cool! that sounds like such an AWESOME day date! so jealous! beautiful weather, beach, what could be better?
When we bought the tickets we only had to show our Proof of Residence. When you are at Disneyland, we were told that going in and out you can show the proof of residence for the entire group. Everyone will need to be with someone w/California DL if they are coming in or out. Small hasle for a 60 Dollar Savings...
That looks like it was so much fun! I love that there is a Leadbetter beach!! I wish we could have seen it with you! Hopefully we can see you soon! Miss you guys!
