We are so blessed

Forrest is such a dreamer. Not in a bad way, though. He definitely doesn't limit his options. Everything he wants to do, he does it - regardless of how many people tell him he can't do it, regardless of the odds that are against him. Sometimes I think he's crazy or that he's setting himself up for failure. But somehow he always surprises me.

Last year about this time, he told me he had two goals: #1 - work for Deloitte (one of the big 4 accounting firms, best place possible to launch a career in public accounting), and #2 - get accepted into a national top 25 accounting program. Coming out of SUU, these dreams seemed pretty unrealistic.

Well last week was our Spring Break. Forrest had applied and interviewed for a summer internship with Deloitte in Vegas, and he was fortunate enough to be invited for a 2nd interview. So the first day of our break we went to Vegas with the Webbs for Forrest's interview. He interviewed Monday night and Tuesday morning/afternoon. After his interview, we all headed to San Diego for the week. A couple of hours after we left Vegas, Forrest got a phone call - it was one of the Partners at Deloitte, calling to offer Forrest the internship! We were so incredibly excited. It was a dream come true.

As if we weren't already happy enough - the next day when we were in San Diego, Forrest got an email from William and Mary. He got accepted into their Master of Accounting program, and of course it is a top 25 program. So, chances are very good that we'll be moving to Virginia in August, after a wonderful and warm summer in Las Vegas.

Forrest has worked so incredibly hard for this, and I'm so proud of him. We also know that these things couldn't have happened without the help of our Heavenly Father, and we are so grateful to him for blessing us with so much.

Congrats Forrest!

Forrest, congratulations and welcome to the Mason School of Business family. I think you'll really love the environment. People are friendly, the teachers are amazing (and accessible), the community is beautiful, and Miller Hall is no doubt the most amazing building you will ever have classes in. I have some friends in the MACC program (dual degree w/ MBA) who can answer any questions you have or help you guys get settled in. If you need anything please don't hesitate to ask. Dan has my contact information.

Congratulations once again and best of luck to you on the road to success!

Congrats! Wow, that is exciting. (I bet your parents aren't so excited you're moving to the other side of the country, though!)

Good for you, Forrest! That is so important to not limit yourself no matter what others say or think. You can do anything if you work for it! You will love it back there, too. And while you live back there you HAVE to take a vacation to the Outer Banks in NC. That was one of my favorite vacations ever.Good luck this summer!

Hey Holly, this is Kim (Belcher) I just randomly ran across your blog and I saw that your husband got in to William and Mary. That is awesome. My husband is going to be attending William and Mary Law School this fall. So we are actually moving out to Virginia in late July! Anyway, I hope we'll see you guys there!
